The Pietra salata, rising out of the sea off the hill of Posillipo, the hill district of Naples. It looks like an outcropping rock but in reality it is the submerged remains of a Roman villa from the imperial era. The villa had a series of projecting porticoes that reached out into the sea, was decorated with columns and mosaics, and had fishponds.
